David E. Taussig, MSW, LCSW, LMFT

David Taussig is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed marital and family therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. He is also a clinical lecturer in Northwestern University's Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy (MSMFT) Program.

 

He received his master's degree in social work from Smith College School of Social Work in 1983. Mr. Taussig is a 1992 graduate of The Family Institute's postgraduate training program in marriage and family therapy where he also completed a two-year supervision program in 1995. He is an approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

Mr. Taussig has been associated with The Family Institute since 1989. He has been teaching and supervising in Northwestern Univeristy's MSMFT Program and The Family Institute postgraduate training program since 1993. He has been director of Family Institute clinical services as well as Director of the Postgraduate Clinical Fellowship Program. He currently is a core faculty member and 2nd year supervisor in the MFT program.

 

Prior to joining The Family Institute staff, Mr. Taussig was the director of family and social service at The Rock Creek Center, a psychiatric hospital in Lemont, Illinois.

 

Mr. Taussig treats individuals, couples and families.

 

Clinical Interests: Couples; divorce and post-divorce issues; families with adolescent/adult children; families of the chronically mentally ill; men's separation and divorce issues; aging issues
