Karen Krefman, MSMFT, LMFT

Karen Krefman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Senior Vice President for Strategy and Advancement at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She has responsibility for the operations of the Board of Directors and management of the strategic planning activities of the Institute and the Board of Directors. She also oversees the Institutional Advancement department, which encompasses both Development and Public Affairs.

 

She received her first Master's of Science degree in Speech and Language Communication Disorders from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1975. Returning later to the field of mental health, she received a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University with extensive clinical training at The Family Institute's Bette D. Harris Family and Child Clinic. She then completed two years of advanced training in The Family Institute Postgraduate Clinical Fellowship Program.

 

Karen Krefman maintains an active clinical practice specializing in the treatment of couples, individuals and families. She is also a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

 

Ms. Krefman treats individuals, couples and families.
