Linda R. Rubinowitz, PhD, LCP, LMFT

Dr. Linda Rubinowitz is a licensed clinical psychologist and licensed marriage and family therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Psychology Department, teaching and supervising in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. Dr. Rubinowitz is an Approved Supervisor of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition, she is Director of the Postgraduate Fellowship Program at The Family Institute. 

For a decade, Dr. Rubinowitz was Director of Northwestern's Master of Science Program in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is the founding director and current member of the Midlife and Beyond Program for Maturing Adults.

Dr. Rubinowitz received her PhD from Northwestern University and has been a psychologist and consultant since l989. Previously, she had a career in speech and language pathology with children and adults, followed by a specialty in social/emotional and learning disabilities in children.


Dr. Rubinowitz works with individuals, couples and families.

Clinical Interests: stress; depression; adult children and parents; midlife and aging issues; health psychology; medical family therapy; gender issues; couple intimacy and conflict; transition to marriage; parenting across the life cycle; family life cycle transitions.
