Healing Families... Transforming Lives
The Family Institute is dedicated to strengthening and healing families from all levels of society through direct care, professional education and clinical research. The Institute provides counseling and psychotherapy for children and families throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. It also operates nationally-renowned graduate education programs and conducts mental health research in affiliation with Northwestern University.

Contributions help support all of these programs, including a sliding-fee Clinic and community-based mental health care for disadvantaged families. Nearly one-third of all direct care is provided free of charge or at reduced fees to clients of limited means.

Your gift to The Family Institute will mean that:

  • Hundreds of children and families in low-income neighborhoods will receive quality mental health care through our Community Outreach Program.
  • "Working poor" and uninsured families and individuals can access affordable counseling and psychotherapy though our sliding-fee Clinic.
  • Scientist/Practitioners will have resources needed to study problems and develop innovative treatments.
  • Top young clinicians will get advanced training from some of the most respected experts in the field of family therapy.
  • Promising Master's students will become skilled mental health professionals and bring hope and healing to thousands across our nation and around the world.
