Applicants are required to complete both the Northwestern University Graduate School Application Requirements and the Program Specific Application Requirements.

Northwestern University Graduate School Application Requirements

1. Application for Admission completed though The Graduate School Online Application paper copies are not accepted.
2. Non-refundable Application fee of $75.00 paid by credit card at application submission.
3. Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended, documenting all courses taken whether or not within a degree program, grades received and degrees earned.
4. Two letters of recommendation, on-line through The Graduate School Online Application or on their professional letterhead mailed to the program department.
5. One-page statement of purpose.
6. Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores.
7. Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), if English is not applicant's native language.
8. All supplemental materials (transcripts, letters of recommendation and test scores) must be sent directly to the program to which you are applying.

The Program Specific Application Requirements for the Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy Program

1. Program Specific Application-Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy Program.
2. One additional letter of recommendation (a total of 3).
3. Resume or curriculum vitae.
4. Essays concerning background, experiences and career objectives.
5. All Supplemental Materials listed above under Graduate School Application Requirements (Transcripts, Letters of Recommendation, Official Test Scores from ETS).
6. Stamped, self-addressed postcard to confirm receipt of application (optional)
7. If invited, applicants will participate in an interview with program faculty.

Program-Specific Application for the Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy Program is a paper application.
