There are currently six Postgraduate Fellowship positions at The Family Institute at Northwestern University – four General Clinical Fellows and two Clinical Research Fellows (Morgan and Madigan Fellows). All fellowships are two years in duration. Currently three new Fellows are accepted annually.
The Postgraduate Fellowship Program at The Family Institute at Northwestern University provides advanced, intensive training for mental health professionals who have completed Master’s or Doctoral degrees. The goal of the program is to develop the next generation of leaders and innovators in family therapy and family psychology. Over the course of two years, the program focuses on three integrated components of training:
Postgraduate General Clinical Fellowships
The Family Institute at Northwestern University has a strong commitment to clinical practice in areas related to families and relationships. Currently, we accept two general clinical fellows each year.
Postdoctoral Clinical Research Fellowships
The Family Institute at Northwestern University has a strong commitment to research in areas related to families and relationships. We have two postdoctoral fellowships that focus specifically on research projects: the Dr. John J.B. Morgan Postdoctoral Clinical Research Fellowship focuses on psychotherapy research with individuals, couples and families; and the Madigan Family Postdoctoral Clinical Research Fellowship focuses on the treatment of families with emotional disorders. Click on either of the preceding links for more detailed information about the Postdoctoral Clinical Research Fellowships. Dr. William Pinsof is the director of research at Northwestern University’s Center for Applied Psychological and Family Studies.
