Midlife & Beyond Program for Maturing Adults
Living With Illness

The Midlife & Beyond Program has developed a unique component to assist couples and families who are living with illness. It offers education and counseling to help them address the emotional and relational challenges faced by both the caregivers and the person who is ill.

In this program component, couples and families will learn to:

  • Deepen their sense of connection to each other
  • Balance responsibilities and loyalties
  • Establish health boundaries and role flexibility
  • Allow for each family member's voice and perspective to be heard
  • Improve communication around issues of loss and grief
  • Link to resources and social supports
  • Adapt to the complex challenges and opportunities inherent in living with illness over time
