
Kathy L. Bingham, PhD
Kathy Bingham is a licensed clinical psychologist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. She is also a clinical lecturer in Northwestern University's Master of Science Marital and Family Therapy Program.
She received her PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997, with major areas of study in clinical and developmental psychology.
Prior to becoming a clinical psychologist, Dr. Bingham had fifteen years of experience in the field of early childhood and special education, which involved family and community-based work. She received clinical training in psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Cook County Department of Child Psychiatry, The Family Institute and Ravenswood Community Mental Health Center. Her research activities have focused on parent-child interactions and cultural factors related to parenting.
Dr. Bingham has previously been a staff psychologist in the adult division of Ravenswood Community Mental Health Center, where she was involved in the training of psychology interns. She has also held adjunct faculty positions at the University of Illinois at Chicago and at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Prior to joining The Family Institute in 2003, Dr Bingham was in private practice. She has extensive experience with children, adolescents, adult individuals, family, couples and group therapy.
Dr. Bingham treats individual adults, children, adolescents, family and couples.
