Timothy F. Dwyer, PhD, LMFT

 

Dr. Tim Dwyer is a licensed marital and family therapist. He holds the McCormick Tribune Foundation Chair in Marriage and Family Therapy and is director of the Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy Program at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. He is a clinical member and approved supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of AAMFT.

Dr. Dwyer earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University in marital and family therapy in 1995, and his master’s degree in family studies from Michigan State University in 1990.  Prior to joining the Family Institute, Dr. Dwyer was program director of graduate counseling and the clinical director at Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Adjunct Clinical Professor at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and maintained a thriving private practice in New Orleans. 

Dr. Dwyer treats individuals, couples and families.
