
Michael Maslar, Psy.D.
Michael Maslar is the Director of Mindfulness and Behavior Therapies at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. He is a licensed clinical psychologist, and an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's Medical School in the Division of Psychology. Dr. Maslar received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and graduate degrees from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
He has extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, and other mindfulness and behavioral therapies. Dr. Maslar is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the Illinois State DBT Training Team, The Midwest DBT Team Leaders Group, and the Chicago DBT Consortium.
Dr. Maslar treats individuals, couples and families.
Clinical Interests: Individual adults and young adult therapy; family and couples therapy: personality disorders, self-injury and suicidality, trauma recovery work and post traumatic stress disorder; anxiety; depression; anger, stress, and emotion management; mindfulness and fulfillment; and consultation for clinicians on complex, multi-problem, difficult to treat individuals.
