
Leah H. Smethurst, MSMFT, LMFT
Leah Smethurst is a licensed marriage and family therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University where she completed a two-year commitment of advanced training in marital and family therapy.
Ms. Smethurst received her bachelor of science degree in psychology and anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master of science degree in marriage and family therapy at the University of Maryland in College Park. She received her clinical training at the Family Service Center, an outpatient clinic at the University of Maryland, where she gained experience treating children, families and couples.
Following her experience at the University of Maryland, Ms. Smethurst worked as a staff therapist with the Affiliated Santé Group, where, in addition to her work with individuals and couples, she gained extensive experience with children and adults with chronic mental illness and/or disabilities and their families.
Ms. Smethurst treats couples, families and individuals.
