B.S. in Psychology — University of Central Florida
Ms. Rashid earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and continued on to complete her Master of Arts in Counseling at The Family Institute at Northwestern University with a concentration in Child and Adolescent mental health. Shortly after this, she acquired her National Certified Counselor (NCC) status as well as her Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Illinois. She gained experience as a Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Specialist for OCD and Anxiety disorders and facilitated cognitive behavioral therapy groups for her patients. She later helped facilitate a Mood and Anxiety program for children and adolescents on the Autism spectrum.
Ms. Rashid specializes in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in her practice, and especially enjoys working with anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorders in children, adolescents and adults. In her practice, she strives to create a safe and comfortable space for her clients to express and explore themselves without reservation or fear of judgement. Ms. Rashid works with her clients to assess the changes they can realistically make to help them cope, build their self esteem, change their thinking patterns and to set themselves up for success in their future.
