About
Curiosity is my superpower that builds a bridge of understanding how it feels to live in my clients’ shoes. I’m humbled to be invited on a journey that weaves between all the spoken and unspoken moments of a human being’s life story.
Karla Hargrove, M.A., LCPC (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), trained through the Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute at UC San Diego. She brings a compassionate, collaborative, and culturally responsive approach to therapy, supporting clients from a wide range of racial, spiritual, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ms. Hargrove specializes in treating depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and emotional dysregulation, with a particular interest in helping individuals navigate life transitions related to parenting, career identity, relationships, physical health, and financial stress. Her work integrates mindfulness-based interventions and a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed lens to strengthen clients’ emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and present-moment awareness. Ms. Hargrove brings additional training and work experiences from community-based non-profits, such as Youth Guidance, Center on Halsted and Nourishing Hope (formerly Lakeview Pantry).
Ms. Hargrove's therapeutic style is warm, relational, and strengths-based. She views each client as the expert in their own life and engages collaboratively to create a space where healing can unfold with curiosity and care. Her mindfulness teaching and clinical practice are guided by the belief that change begins with compassionate self-awareness and the courage to slow down and listen inward.
