The health and wellbeing of our community remains top of mind

In March 2020, The Family Institute quickly moved from a 2% teletherapy practice to a 100% teletherapy practice, necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. We were fortunate that technology enabled us to be able to continue caring for the mental health and wellbeing of our community with very little interruption.

Teletherapy is an empirically supported treatment option and will remain an option for our clients into the future. We know that many clients will opt to continue seeing their therapist via teletherapy either exclusively or occasionally. We also know that some of our clients are interested in returning to our office locations for in-person sessions. Plans for our return to providing in-person mental health services are well underway.

As we move into a new blended model of offering services, the health and wellbeing of our community remains top of mind. The CDC and State of Illinois have recently updated mask guidelines and we are evaluating the implications of this guidance for how to best serve our community. We continue to be a 100% teletherapy practice at this time. In-person neuropsychological testing will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

In advance of in-person sessions being offered, you and your therapist will discuss what option in a blended model is right for you. We know that each person’s situation is unique, therefore, if you have specific questions about your care, please reach out directly to your therapist. They, and all of us at The Family Institute, are committed to supporting you.
