As many parents prepare to send their children back to school, we know that this time of year can be overwhelming for everyone in the family. We've put together some helpful wellness tips to set your child up for back to school success:
1.Maintain a routine to help your child adjust to returning to school: keep consistent times for dinner, homework and bed (when able).
2. Promote a growth mindset: instill in your child that they're at school to be a learner, and that their skills and knowledge will improve with effort and persistence.
3. Utilize the resources available: work with the teachers and counselors at school, and remind your child that their teachers are there to help them succeed.
4. Encourage your child to get involved in extra-curricular activities that are catered to their interests.
5. Create a set of goals for the year with your child, and help them come up with achievable strategies to get there.
