About
I believe in trying to understand a client as a person first, who they are beyond any symptoms or diagnosis. From there we can work on understand what change a client wants to happen and how to make it happen.
Stefan Vasic, Ph.D., LPC (he/him) balances a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to initiate change with a psychodynamic perspective to help understand the basis of recurring patterns in client's lives. His top priority is attuning to client's needs in session to understand what is most helpful to the client on that day. In Dr. Vasic's experience working with adults facing significant life transitions, relationship issues, substance use, and anxiety, he has found that some sessions are best spent collaborating on concrete plans of action, and other sessions are best spent reflecting on interpersonal relationships that have impacted clients from childhood onward. Dr. Vasic's background in philosophy helps him navigate existential questions that often come up in counseling and highlight the systemic and cultural conditions that are impacting clients. Balancing a calm presence, humor, and empathetic directness, Dr. Vasic helps client cultivate whatever meaningful change they want to achieve.
