About

Jamie Fleury, M.A. (she/her), is a Postgraduate Fellow with The Family Institute at Northwestern University specializing in work with couples, partnership systems, families, and individuals. She is particularly passionate about supporting clients navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, identity development, trauma, anxiety, and depression. As a multiracial and LGBTQIA+ therapist, Jamie has a special interest in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, multicultural identities, and diverse relationship structures, including consensual non-monogamous partnerships. She is committed to creating a safe, sex-positive, and neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic space where clients feel empowered to show up as their full selves.

Jamie earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and holds dual bachelor's degrees in Legal Studies and Multimedia Journalism from Grand Valley State University. Before becoming a therapist, she spent nearly a decade working in journalism and the legal field, experiences that fostered a deep commitment to social justice, advocacy, and understanding the broader systems that influence people's lives and relationships. Her clinical training has included work with adolescents, adults, couples, families, and therapy groups across private practice and nonprofit settings, providing care for clients from diverse cultural, relational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Jamie takes an integrative, relational approach to therapy, drawing from psychodynamic, systemic, mindfulness-based, and evidence-informed approaches to meet each client's unique needs. She believes meaningful change comes from balancing insight with self-compassion while developing greater awareness of the different parts of ourselves that emerge within relationships. By exploring these experiences with curiosity rather than judgment, clients can better understand the patterns that have shaped them and begin creating new ways of relating to themselves and others. Whether helping couples strengthen communication, families navigate transitions, or individuals deepen their relationships with themselves and others, Jamie is committed to fostering a therapeutic relationship where clients feel understood, challenged, and supported as they move toward lives that feel more connected, authentic, and fulfilling.
