About

The best therapy brings together a set of common factors that underlie all good therapy, and specific skills for employing effective strategies of change with the problem in focus.

Dr. Lebow is Clinical Professor of Psychology at Northwestern University as well as Senior Scholar and Senior Therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. He is editor of the journal Family Process, the Encyclopedia of Couple and Family Therapy (with Chambers and Breunlin 2018), and the Clinical Handbook of Couple Therapy. He maintains an active psychotherapy practice, treating individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Lebow made seminal contributions to the field, particularly in the areas of psychotherapy integration, the common factors, and bridging research and practice. He may be best known, however, as a preeminent articulator of the fields of couple and family therapy.
