Dr. Livorsi has over fifteen years of experience, with much of her career focusing on the clinical needs of children, adolescents and their families. Having provided clinical leadership in a variety of therapeutic settings, including alternative school placements and residential programs, Dr.

Dr. Smith graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelors in Psychology in 2009 and earned a masters in Clinical Counseling and doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Elizabeth Mika has spent over 30 years working with diverse populations of all ages and cultural backgrounds in private practice, as well as in community mental health, inpatient and college settings.

Chris Akel, M.S.W. (he/him) is trained in a variety of 3rd wave theories including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the Unified Protocol. Prior to his time at The Family Institute, Mr.

Pam Martinez is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who completed undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois and earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychological Counseling from Chicago State University. Ms.

As a dual-careerist, Ms. Faulkner comes to therapy with an appreciation for the benefits and consequences of life as we live it. She works collaboratively with clients to identify strengths and goals using behavioral, cognitive, emotional and spiritual modalities.
