Dr. Jamie Blalock (she/her) graduated with her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Science, specializing in couple and family therapy and quantitative research methods from The Ohio State University. Dr. Blalock feels honored to have worked with clients of various sexual, gender, and racial identities, as well as across socioeconomic backgrounds. Dr. Blalock supports partners navigating an array of relationship transitions: from clients in pre-marital counseling to those contemplating or preparing for separation - Dr. Blalock meets clients wherever they are in their relational journey.
Dr. Blalock has a strong awareness that clients are spending their hard-earned money, time, emotional and cognitive energy during therapy. As such, she feels an ethical responsibility to use evidence-based approaches with her clients including: Emotion-focused Therapy, Integrative Behavioral Couple therapy, Cognitive-behavioral Therapy, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Dr. Blalock's personal and professional values align with prioritizing social justice, inclusion, and intersectionality. Dr. Blalock maintains an awareness for how the larger social-political structures make it more or less difficult for clients to navigate society based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, and economic status. She is committed to holding a non-judgmental and accepting space for clients to explore their identities, hardships, and dreams.
