Bachelor of Social Work, Hope College
Jenny is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois and her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Hope College. To best serve her clients, she has obtained additional training in modalities that focus on strengthening parent-child attachment such as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRIⓇ) and TheraplayⓇ as well as training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to help support individuals heal from the effects of trauma. Jenny’s clinical experience and background is primarily with adoptive children and families throughout Cook County, undergraduate students in a university setting, and individual adults in private practice. Jenny especially enjoys working with children and adults who are new or hesitant about beginning their therapy journey; she seeks to create a comfortable environment where vulnerability, humor, empathy, and playfulness can co-exist.
In a given session, Jenny may draw on a variety of modalities that are attachment-based, trauma-informed, and focus on the mind/body connection. She loves to partner with clients to help them find creative ways to engage their internal processes and participate in their own healing. Using a collaborative approach to treatment is imperative to Jenny, meaning that she works closely with the client, family system, and other key players to understand their unique context and to identify goals that promote clarity, healing, and deeper connection to self and others.
